Hello, my name is Sussy

Sussy

A little bit about me..

Dear Sussy is a 14 yr old female cat looking for a loving home in her golden years after her owner signed her over to a local vets as they were unable to afford the treatment she urgently needed after breaking her leg.

Unfortunately the type of break she had sustained was such that it left little choice other than amputation, but we are pleased to say that she is adapting to life with 1 less limb with ease and is getting about fine now.

Sussy is a very sweet, affectionate, girl, looking for a quiet home and quiet life, where she can live out her remaining years in peace and tranquility and begin a little bit pampered of course!

She really isn't keen on other cats so must be the only pet in the home, and she would still like a little garden to mooch about in when the weather pleasant.

Annual costs of having a cat...

Can you afford a cat?

The cost of owning a cat would be in the region of £360 per year as a rough guide.

  • Can you afford £5 per week for cat food?
  • Can you afford £10 per month for pet insurance? Pet insurance in an essential part of being a pet owner and with a cats lifespan being 16 years upwards you need to be ready for the unexpected – what will you do if your pet develops an illness? Can you find the £150 plus to diagnose the problem? Modern veterinary care means that it is possible to treat serious injuries and illnesses successfully, but such treatment can be complex and very expensive. Vets bills continue to rise and pet insurance will give you the peace of mind that should something happen to your pet, bills will not a problem.
  • Can you afford the vet bills throughout your cat’s life?
  • Can you afford your cat’s annual vaccination booster of around £35 per year?
  • Can you afford to board your cat or arrange for friends or family to look after your cat while you are on holiday?
  • Can you afford regular preventative treatment against fleas and worms?
