Volunteering

Volunteering is a rewarding and enjoyable way of supporting animal welfare work. It provides an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of animals that come to the attention of the Branch. We place a high value on the support we receive from our volunteers as their help enables us focus our resources on assisting animals in need that come into our care.

What can I do as a volunteer?

While most volunteering activities for the Branch do not involve practical animal care, opportunities exist to become a pet fosterer to assist us with our re-homing programme. There are however many other practical ways you can support the Branches work as a volunteer, these include;

  • Helping run one of our charity shops
  • Becoming a Branch Trustee
  • Assisting our re-homing programme as a home visitor
  • Fundraising, and
  • Assisting with the administrative work

What will I get from volunteering?

Volunteering provides an opportunity for you to meet with like minded people working with shared values. It allows you to gain valuable transferable skills and gives you the satisfaction of knowing that through the time you give you make a real difference to the lives of unwanted, neglected and needy animals in the community where you live.
