Legacies

Legacies (or bequests) form a very important part of the income that the Branch receives. It does not matter how large or small they may be because legacies generate income that the Branch does not budget on receiving. When we are left money in someone’s Will it provides extra income that can be used to make a start on projects that are planned but which we may not have funds to allow us to commence them.

If you would like to leave money or property in your Will to the Branch please remember that the Branch is a separate registered charity to the national RSPCA. To ensure your gift comes to the Branch, in your Will you should ensure that you include the full name of the Branch and our registered charity number. The full name of the Branch is: RSPCA Middlesex North West Branch. The registered charity number for the Branch is: 208331. By making your bequest to the Branch you know that animals in your area are going to benefit from your gift as the money received by the Branch is spent locally.

You may wish to speak to your solicitor regarding the wording in your Will but we would suggest that your legacy wording reads:

‘I give devise and bequeath to the RSPCA Middlesex North West Branch, registered charity number 208331, the sum of £x or the whole (or share) of my residuary estate for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the charity shall be sufficient discharge therefore.’
