Having a pet can be expensive and involves you in making a long term commitment to your adopted pet. Regular expenses you will have include weekly food bills, yearly booster vaccinations, boarding fees during holidays, pet insurance, and any unexpected veterinary treatment charges.

Is a small animal the right pet for you?

  • Can you afford £5 a week for food
  • Can you give your pet a safe and secure space to live in?
  • Can you afford up to £10 a month for pet insurance?
  • Can you be at home for part of every day?
  • If needed can you afford veterinary treatment throughout your pet’s life?
  • Can you afford to board your pet or arrange for family or friends to look after your pet while you are on holiday?

PATCHY

Patchy is a lovely lad looking for a new home as he was no longer wanted. He is very friendly and easily handled. He is a lonely chap and would love to find a home with a girlfriend or two that he can snuggle up with. Patchy is used to living as an indoor pig, so he will need to remain inside for the duration of the winter, but then there is no reason why he can go outside once it warms up out there.

TIGER

Tiger was signed over to us as he was no longer wanted by his previous owner. he is a nice friendly lad who is easily picked up and handled. he would make an ideal hamster for a first time owner.

DOUGHNUT

Doughnut is one of several hamsters who came to us via the Harmsworth Hospital in Holloway after been found abandoned by some bins.

Doughnut is a lovely old girl, all these hamsters are very friendly and easy to handle. They would all make great hamsters for first time owners, but we do feel that they are all older hamsters and not spring chickens. Doughnut has got a funny eye but its requires no treatmnet just looks a bit odd.

WAFFLES

Waffles is one of several hamsters who came to us via the Harmsworth Hospital in Holloway after been found abandoned by some bins.

Waffles is a lovely old girl, all these hamsters are very friendly and easy to handle. They would all make great hamsters for first time owners, but we do feel that they are all older hamsters and not spring chickens

BAGEL

Bagel is one of several hamsters who came to us via the Harmsworth Hospital in Hollow after been found abandoned by some bins.

Bagel is a lovely old girl, all these hamsters are very friendly and easy to handle. They would all make great hamsters for first time owners, but we do feel that they are all older hamsters and not spring chickens.

DUMPLING

Dumpling is one of several hamsters who came into our care having been found abandoned by some bins.

Dumpling is a lovely chap who is easy to pick up and handle. He did have a little bit of a sticky eye when he first arrived, but this has all cleared up now with a bit of treatment. He was extremely well behaved, especially considering it’s very hard and fiddly to get eye drops into a hamster’s eye! We don’t know exactly how old Dumpling is, but he appears to be an older chap.

FRITTER

Fritter is a sweet old guy who came to us via our Harmsworth Hospital in Holloway after a group of hamsters were found in a cage by some bins.

He is a really nice old guy, who is very friendly and easy to handle. All the hamsters were found together and poor old Fritter does seem to have a few bite wounds on him, but they are nothing serious and are all on the mend. As he was abandoned we can’t say exactly how old he is but he does appear to be an older hamster.

ANGELINA, COLUMBINA & GISELLE

Angelina was dumped in a cage outside the doors of the RSPCA Harmsworth Hospital in Holloway, soon after being transferred into our care it became obvious she was pregnant and soon gave birth to 7 babies, all of which are now looking for new homes.

These mice are all friendly and are used to regular handling. they are going to need nice large cages to live in, with the opportunity to come out regularly to get extra room to exercise. As Angelina was abandoned it is impossible to say exactly how old she is, but she was a juvenile when she came into our care.

NUTCRACKER, TIN SOLDIER, HARLEQUIN, MOUSE KING & PRINCE

These 5 boys were born in our care after their pregnant mom was left abandoned in a cage by the doors of the RSPCA Harmsworth Hopspital in Holloway.

They are all friendly, and used to regular handling. They will need a nice large cage to live in and the chance to come out of that and stretch their legs on a regular basis.
