Having a pet can be expensive and involves you in making a long term commitment to your adopted pet. Regular expenses you will have include weekly food bills, yearly booster vaccinations, boarding fees during holidays, pet insurance, and any unexpected veterinary treatment charges.

Is a Dog the right pet for you?

• Can you afford £6-£10 a week for dog food?
• Can you be with your dog for most of the time every day?
• Can you afford up to £15 a month for pet insurance?
• Can you take your dog for regular walks?
• Can you afford your dog’s regular vaccinations (about £35 a year)?
• Can you provide an escape proof garden where your dog can play?
• If needed can you afford veterinary treatment throughout your dog’s life?
• Can you afford to board your dog or arrange for family or friends to look after your dog while you are on holiday?

If you can answer YES to these questions then read on to find out about adopting a dog or a puppy.

Dog Adoption Charges

Adult dog (over 6 months of age) £100.00
Pup (6 months and under) £120.00

These charges include:

• A health check plus flea treatment and worming
• Microchipping
• First vaccination
• Neutering (for pups too young to be neutered at the time of adoption a voucher will be provided to cover the cost of this procedure)
