Cats

Having a pet can be expensive and involves you in making a long term commitment to your adopted pet. Regular expenses you will have include weekly food bills, yearly booster vaccinations, boarding fees during holidays, pet insurance, and any unexpected veterinary treatment charges.

Is a Cat the right pet for you?

  • Can you afford £5 a week for cat food
  • Can you give your cat safe access to a garden or somewhere safe outside?
  • Can you afford up to £10 a month for pet insurance?
  • Can you be at home for part of every day?
  • Can you afford your cat’s regular vaccinations (about £35 a year)?
  • If needed can you afford veterinary treatment throughout your cat’s life?
  • Can you afford to board your cat or arrange for family or friends to look after your cat while you are on holiday?

If you can answer YES to these questions then read on to find out about adopting a cat or kitten.

DOUGLAS, KURT, BRANDON & MARILYN

These kittens were all born in a garage, they are a bit older than we usually like to keep feral kittens, but it was impossible for them to be neutered and returned to where they came from so we felt the only thing to do would be to try and find them a home. For little urban kittens they aren’t too bad at all. Yes they are very shy and nervous and won’t come rushing over to you for a tickle and a stroke, but belive it or not they can be picked up and given a quick cuddle before they panic and wriggle away.

These cats are going to need a lot more TLC than the average rescue cat, but with an experience hand, and some time and patience they will soon get used to the luxury and pampering a loving home can provide. These cats would not be suitable for homing with young children, they are eventually going to need a garden that they will be able to visit once settled and have adventures in.

They do not need to be homed in a group or pairs. They will be fine homed individually, but will also make superb companions to a lonely feline who needs a pal, as they love the company of other cats and will learn an awful lot of their habits and ways to feel comfy with us humans from them. Don’t forget though, if your cat is a cheeky money and likes drinking out of a tap then your little kitten will be sure to copy.

GLEN

Glen is a lovely old man who was found in a right state, full of fleas and dehydrated after been left to wander the streets with no place to call home.

Glen is a really lovely lad, though he isn’t keen on other cats. He is an old boy, and although we can’t say how old he is for sure, we have put him in the 16-18yr old category. Despite his great age he does appear to be in fine health, we have carried out blood tests to ensure he is in good working order and all is fine on that score.

We are desperately seeking a retirement home for |Glen where he will be able to live out the rest of his years in peace and tranquillity. Glen is a gorgeous cat and will make a smashing companion for someone willing to give him the best last few years of his life.

BUCCANEER & MUSKETEER

Buccaneer and Musketeer came to us having been found abandoned in a box in the street.

These little boys are very sweet but they are a little bit shy. Buccaneer is the boldest of the pair; Musketeer is a bit more reserved and will take a while longer to settle into a new place. With a little extra time and patience these boys will soon be trotting about and playing like all young men of this age. These boys would not suit a home with young children and they will need a home with a garden to have adventures in.

TIMMY

Timmy was signed over to an Inspector after she had been called to the property after a complaint was made.

He is a lovely boy, extremely friendly and affectionate, he adore people and would make a mashing family pet. Timmy is going to need a home with a garden to potter about in. He is a young playful chap and enjoys lots of games and toys.

CROSBY

Crosby came to us as a stray with a nasty bite wound to his leg where he has been scrapping with other cats in the neighbourhood.

This has all healed up and now Crosby is ready for his new home. Crosby is a lovely fellow; he really enjoys a tickle and fuss and will be a smashing cat companion for someone. He is a young lively fellow, and he does like to explore his surroundings. He would prefer a home as the only cat and he is going to need a garden to be in charge of.

EMANUEL

Emanuel is a lovely cat that was found as a stray, and sadly had to come into our care after all efforts to trace an owner have been exhausted.

He wants attention so much he is begging the camera man to stop taking photos and give him a tickle instead!!

Emanuel adores people, he is a very calm, laid back cat, who likes nothing more than a snuggle on the sofa being pampered. He is a gentle natured cat who would make a great addition to your family; very young children may be a bit much for him to cope with though. Emanuel is looking for a home with a garden to be able to mooch about in, and he seems to tolerate other cats well, so should fit happily into an already catty household.

HALLOWEENA

Halloweena is a lovely little girl who was rescued on Halloween with her tiny brood, who were literally hours old when she was found under someone’s shed.

Halloweena is a very friendly little cat who loves lots of love and attention; she would make a great family pet. She is little more than a kitten herself and although she has done a fantastic job raising her little family now is her time to enjoy herself and get back to been a kitten again.

BURT

Burt came into our care having been rescued as a stray after all attempts to trace an owner failed.

Burt is a nice lad, he isn’t crazy about being locked up in a cattery and would dearly love to be in a cosy, loving home once again. Burt is a friendly chap who would make a great family pet, he would need a home without very young children, but with a place to be able to mooch about and enjoy a garden he will be a very happy man.

LOLA

Lola came into our care after being picked up by an Inspector when she was left abandoned in a box in the street.

Lola is quite wary of people and really needs to be in a loving home where she can get the love and attention she desperately needs. She was very small when she came to us but has been over looked so many times that her confidence levels have gotten less and less. Lola needs an experience cat owner to help her develop her personality and come out of her shell. She would not suit a home with children ad she would make a brilliant companion for another feline.

PALOMA

Paloma came into our care from a multi cat household, where there were just too many cats for the people to reasonably cope with.

Paloma, like many cats from this sort of environment, is quite a nervous cat. She has quite a long way to go with getting used to being handled, and can be a bit scrabbly when you pick her up. She desperately needs to be in a loving safe environment where she can get someone to one attention to help her get settled. Pagan would not be suitable for homing with children and she will need a confident experienced owner.
