Sriracha is a sweet girl who came into our care with her tiny kittens after being found as a stray. She had sneaked into a house and had her babies under the sideboard.
Sriracha has been in her foster home for some time and although she is still a very timid cat she is beginning to come out of her shell and is really starting to enjoy life once more. She’s slowly and steadily gaining confidence, though she’s still a bit shy and will sometimes hiding under the bed to feel safe, or just keeping out of my way until she feels more at ease. She can be very playful, scampering from room to room, or playing with her toys, and she loves to play with the fishing-rod toy.
At feeding time she’s a different cat – rolling on the floor, head-butting the food sachet in anticipation, purring happily, and letting her foster mum give her lots of strokes. Occasionally she’ll get nervous if a hand approaches her too fast or at the wrong angle, and she may give a gentle swipe or back away.
Sriracha is going to need a very special someone to take her on, someone who will be willing to give her the time and space she needs to settle into a new environment. With some gentle reassurance and coaxing she will hopefully soon find her feet.
Sriracha gets along great with other cats, and having a confident friendly companion would surely works wonders in making her feel at ease in a new home.
