As a small branch of the RSPCA we don”t have the luxury of owning a large rehoming centre and so rely heavily upon our fosterers to help with temorarily providing a home for the animals in our care.
Fostering is great for anyone who would love a pet but can”t afford to keep one or for those who can only commite to short periods at a time.
It is ideal for families or individuals who wish to experience to joys of caring for a pregnant cat or one with new born kittens. Or for those who just wish to help rescue animals in need in thier local area.
Fostering involves taking animals into your own home until a permanent homes can be found for them. The RSPCA will provide food, litter and any other equipment that may be needed. We will also pay for all veterinary costs. All we ask of you is to put a roof over thier heads, and provide them with a safe, stable, loving environment until they begin thier new lives.
The branch deals with a lot with stray cats giving birth in back gardens, sheds and garages, resulting in many very shy and nervous kittens coming into our care. These kittens need to be socialised, so they are used to people and the sights and sounds in a home, thus being ready to go onto their new lives. We are in desperate need of people willing to take these little street urchins into their homes and provide them with the education they desperately need. These cats are perfect for those who have exisiting cats as they love being round other felines and can learn the tricks of being a perfect house cat from them.
We desperately need fosterers for all species from smallies such as hamsters , rats and gerbils to rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets, to cats and dogs.
As we are a local branch I”m afraid we will only be able to accept fosterers in and around the branch area, this includes North West London, Harrow, Wembley, Ruislip, Harefield, Watford, Rickmansworth and St Albans.
